A Method Of Forming A Watch Case From A Commercially Pure (Cp) Grade Titanium Material

Abstract: TITLE: “A METHOD OF FORMING A WATCH CASE FROM A COMMERCIALLY PURE (CP) GRADE TITANIUM MATERIAL” ABSTRACT In the present disclosure a method for forming a watch case from a commercially pure (CP) grade titanium material, and particularly CP grade II titanium material is disclosed. The method includes blanking a sheet made of the CP grade titanium material grade at a first predetermined temperature. Further, the method includes piercing the sheet subjected to the blanking operation, at a second predetermined temperature. The second predetermined temperature is less than the first predetermined temperature. Furthermore, heating the sheet to a third predetermined temperature post the shaving operation. The sheet is then subjected to one or more hot processing operation at the third predetermined temperature to form the watch case. After forming, the watch case is subjected to annealing treatment at the fourth predetermined temperature in a protective atmosphere. The current method of forming produces defects free, material efficient with optimal hardness while forming excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion watch case.
