Abstract: SAFETY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETERRING CANINES ABSTRACT A safety device (100) for deterring canines is disclosed. The safety device (100) is designed to deter canines by employing a combination of visual and auditory stimuli. The safety device (100) features a wrist band (102) intended for secure placement on a user’s wrist. The safety device (100) comprises a light unit (106) capable of emitting a vivid indigo hue, and a sound unit (108) capable of producing loud, attention-grabbing noises. The indigo light, with its distinctive intensity, serves as a visual deterrent, while the accompanying auditory stimuli reinforce the deterrent effect. Description:BACKGROUND
Field of Invention
[001] Embodiments of the present invention generally relate to a safety device, and particularly to a safety device for deterring canines.
Description of Related Art
[002] Urban areas often face challenges associated with the presence of stray canines, posing risks to public safety and health. Conventional methods of deterring these animals have relied on physical barriers or chemical deterrents, which may not always be effective or humane.
[003] Existing solutions lack versatility and may inadvertently cause harm to both humans and animals. Furthermore, urban environments necessitate non-invasive and easily deployable methods to ensure public safety and alleviate concerns associated with stray dog populations.
[004] There is thus a need for an improved and advanced safety device for deterring canines that can administer the aforementioned limitations in a more efficient manner.
SUMMARY
[005] Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide a safety device for deterring canines. The safety device comprising: a wrist band. The wrist band is adapted to be worn by a user on a wrist. The safety device further comprising: a light unit arranged on the wrist band. The light unit is adapted to emit a high intensity light of indigo color. The safety device further comprising: a sound unit arranged on the wrist band. The sound unit is adapted to produce loud noises.
[006] Embodiments in accordance with the present invention further provide a method for deterring canines using a safety device. The method comprising steps of: wearing a wrist band around a wrist of a user; securing the wrist band using a strap; activating the safety device using a button; and pointing the wrist of the user with the safety device towards the canines.
[007] Embodiments of the present invention may provide a number of advantages depending on their particular configuration. First, embodiments of the present application may provide a safety device for deterring canines.
[008] Next, embodiments of the present application may provide a safety device for deterring canines that is potable and pocketable.
[009] Next, embodiments of the present application may provide a safety device for deterring canines that is easy to use.
[0010] Next, embodiments of the present application may provide a safety device for deterring canines that is cost efficient and low-cost incurring.
[0011] These and other advantages will be apparent from the present application of the embodiments described herein.

[0020] FIG. 1 illustrates a block diagram of a safety device 100 for deterring canines, according to an embodiment of the present invention. In an embodiment of the present invention, the safety device 100 may scare away canines by producing distracting lights and scary sounds. In an embodiment of the present invention, the canines may be, but not limited to, domestic dogs, feral dogs, wild dogs, coyotes, wolves, or any other similar canid species, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of canine or other animals.
[0021] According to embodiments of the present invention, the safety device 100 may be used by a user such as, but not limited to, children, old-age people, people visiting unknown and obscure locations, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of the user who may use the safety device 100.
[0022] In an embodiment of the present invention, the safety device 100 may comprise a wrist band 102, a strap 104, a light unit 106, a sound unit 108, a button 110, and a battery 112.
[0023] In an embodiment of the present invention, the wrist band 102 may be adapted to be worn by the user on a wrist. According to embodiments of the present invention, the wrist band 102 may be constructed of any material such as, but not limited to, a metallic material, a wooden material, a fabric material, a plastic material, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any material for construction of the wrist band 102, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
[0024] In an embodiment of the present invention, the strap 104 may be adapted to secure the wrist band 102 of the safety device 100 around the wrist of the user. The strap 104 may further be adjustable to accommodate the wrist band 102 on a wrist of any size, in an embodiment of the present invention. According to embodiments of the present invention, the strap 104 may be constructed of any material such as, but not limited to, the metallic material, the wooden material, the fabric material, the plastic material, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any material for construction of the strap 104, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
[0025] In an embodiment of the present invention, the light unit 106 is arranged on the wrist band 102. The light unit 106 may be adapted to emit a high intensity light of indigo color, in an embodiment of the present invention. The light unit 106 may be adapted to emit the light in a strobe pattern, in an embodiment of the present invention. In another embodiment of the present invention, the indigo colored light emitted by the light unit 106 may be configured to flash intermittently. According to embodiments of the present invention, the light unit 106 may be, but not limited to, a LASER light, an infrared light, a sodium light, and so forth. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the light unit 106 may be a Light Emitting Diode (LED). Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of the light unit 106, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
[0026] In an embodiment of the present invention, the sound unit 108 is arranged on the wrist band 102. The light unit 106 may be adapted to produce loud noises, in an embodiment of the present invention. According to embodiments of the present invention, the loud noises may be, but not limited to, a gunshot noise, a firecracker noise, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of the loud noises that may be produced by the sound unit 108, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies. According to embodiments of the present invention, the sound unit 108 may be, but not limited to, a buzzer, an alarm, a hooter, and so forth. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the sound unit 108 may be a speaker. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of the sound unit 108, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
[0027] In an embodiment of the present invention, the button 110 may be arranged on the wrist band 102. The button 110 may be in an approachable range of fingers of the user, in an embodiment of the present invention. In an embodiment of the present invention, the button 110 may be to activate and deactivate the light unit 106 and the sound unit 108. According to embodiments of the present invention, the button 110 may be an electronic button such as, but not limited to, a push button, a selector button, a limit button, a proximity button, a pressure button, a speed button, a temperature button, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any type of the electronic button that may be used as the button 110, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
[0028] In an embodiment of the present invention, the battery 112 may be connected to the light unit 106 and to the sound unit 108. The battery 112 may supply operational power to the light unit 106 and to the sound unit 108, in an embodiment of the present invention. In an embodiment of the present invention, the operational power may be supplied from a rechargeable battery. In another embodiment of the present invention, the operational power may be supplied from a non-rechargeable battery. According to embodiments of the present invention, the battery 112 for operational power supply may be of any composition such as, but not limited to, a Nickel-Cadmium battery, a Nickel-Metal Hydride battery, a Zinc-Carbon battery, a Lithium-Ion battery, and so forth. Embodiments of the present invention are intended to include or otherwise cover any composition of the battery 112 for operational power supply, including known, related art, and/or later developed technologies.
[0029] FIG. 2 depicts a flowchart of a method 200 for deterring canines using the safety device 100, according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0030] At step 202, the safety device 100 may enable the user to wear the wrist band 102 around the wrist.
[0031] At step 204, the safety device 100 may be secured around the wrist of the user using the strap 104.
[0032] At step 206, the safety device 100 may be activated using the button 110.
[0033] At step 208, the safety device 100 may enable the user to point the wrist towards the canines to scare them away.

I/We Claim:
1. A safety device (100) for deterring canines, the safety device (100) comprising:
a wrist band (102), wherein the wrist band (102) is adapted to be worn by a user on a wrist;
a light unit (106) arranged on the wrist band (102), and adapted to emit a high intensity light of indigo color; and
a sound unit (108) arranged on the wrist band (102) and adapted to produce loud noises.
2. The safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the light unit (106) is a Light Emitting Diode (LED).
3. The safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the sound unit (108) is a speaker.
4. The safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the loud noises produced by the sound unit (108) are selected from a gunshot noise, a firecracker noise, or a combination thereof.
5. The safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, comprises a button (110) to activate and deactivate the light unit (106) and the sound unit (108).
6. The safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, comprises a battery (112) to supply operational power to the light unit (106) and to the sound unit (108).
7. The safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the wrist band (102) comprises a strap (104) to secure the safety device (100) around the wrist of the user.
8. A safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the light unit (106) is adapted to emit the light in a strobe pattern.
9. A safety device (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the indigo colored light emitted by the light unit (106) is configured to flash intermittently.
10. A method (200) for deterring canines using a safety device (100), the method (200) characterized by step of:
wearing a wrist band (102) around a wrist of a user;
securing the wrist band (102) using a strap (104);
activating the safety device (100) using a button (110); and
pointing the wrist of the user with the safety device (100) towards the canines.
