Specification

Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001]
The present subject matter is related to a connecting member, in particular relates to the connecting member for a vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[002]
Typically, a saddle type vehicle includes a frame assembly. The frame 5 assembly being configured to act as a skeleton of the vehicle. More specifically, plurality of subsystems being mounted on the frame assembly. Therefore, in order to mount various sub systems plurality of mounting provisions being provided on the frame assembly. It is observed that the plurality of mounting provisions increases the number of child parts. This increases the overall weight and cost of the vehicle. Like 10 to mount a pair of side covers, a fuel tank assembly and a seat assembly requires dedicated mounting provisions. Therefore, it is a challenge for the designer to reliably mount various sub systems without significantly increasing the overall weight and size of the vehicle.
[003]
It is observed that the dedicated mounting provision increases overall 15 manufacturing cost of the vehicle as it requires transportation of plurality of child part and complex welding process. Further, it is difficult to access various electrical and electronic components, thereby requires dismantling of vehicle which can include disassembly of the powertrain from the frame assembly.
[004]
In order to address the above issue, it is known in the art to provide a cast 20 frame having plurality of mounting provisions. However, this increases the overall cost of the frame assembly as it requires complex manufacturing controls. Further, any variation while manufacturing frame assembly can lead to higher quality rejection. Therefore, there is a need to provide a connecting member which supports one or more

sub systems of the vehicle without affecting the overall strength and stiffness of the
frame assembly.
[005]
Thus, these challenges underscore the necessity to provide more efficient mounting provisions to alleviate assembly complexity, reduce production time, and mitigate associated costs. 5
