Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a heating and undercurrent detection device (200) for a grip (100) of a steering assembly of a vehicle which includes an electronic control unit (125) communicatively coupled with a master electronic control unit (150) of the vehicle. The device comprises a heating element (8) with a resistance coil (10) in the grip (100). When an electric current flows through the heating element (8), the temperature of the resistance coil (10) increases, heating the grip. A temperature sensor (12) detects the temperature of heating element, transmitting a first set of signals to the electronic control unit. Based on the first set of signals, the electronic control unit transmits a second signal to the master electronic control unit. If the second signal remains unchanged for a predefined period, the master electronic control unit detects an undercurrent condition and stops current flow to the heating element (8).
