Operator Console for additional operator (second operator). The extended
workspace is of foldable type can be used for second operator as and
when required.
3 Background of the Invention

various role, based on the requirement of the customer.

The aircraft converted in various role requires installation of Operator
Console at location decided during layout finalization inside aircraft cabin
area on the aircraft seat rail. The Operator Console provides a dedicated
platform for mission based operations, monitoring and also providJs
confined space for carrying associated system equipment and interface flr

role based.
Operator Console design should address HMI/MMI (Human Machine
Interface/ Man Machine Interface) issues as well as airworthiness
20 requirement. It should be complied with the requirements of acceptable
levels of human safety and ergonomics.
Sometimes during tactical mission additional operator is required on
Operator Console which also requires workspace for the second operator.
Challenges in the extended work surface design was that available aisle
25 space should not be affected as well as effective work surface of existing
console should not be reduced for primary operator. I

The extended Work surface should meet ergonomics requirement of
console. The extended Work surface also needs to have sufficient

structure strength for aircraft crash load and has been achieved through
installation of telescopic rod.
