Blended Cementitious Binder

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel blended cementitious binder composition and its method of preparation. The binder composition comprises cement, calcined magnesite, at least one silica-bearing material derived from industrial waste, and at least one hydrating agent, each in specified weight percentages, to enhance the performance characteristics of the binder. The calcined magnesite is derived from a calcination process at temperatures between 600°C to 700°C. The silica-bearing material, derived from industrial waste, adds to the composition's sustainability. The method of preparing the binder involves precise mixing of the ingredients in dry form, followed by the gradual addition of water and hydrating agents to achieve a uniform blend.

Specification

Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a blended cementitious binder composition and a method for preparing the blended cementitious binder composition. More specifically, the composition through specific mixing and hydration processes to achieve a homogeneous blend suitable for various cementitious applications, including concrete and mortar formulations.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

According to the Paris Agreement represents a landmark framework for international climate action, uniting countries in the pursuit of strategies to combat and adapt to climate change. Cement production stands out as a major contributor to anthropogenic CO2 emissions, primarily attributable to its reliance on calcium-based hydraulic cements, particularly Portland cement. The calcination process involved in cement manufacturing results in significant CO2 emissions due to the thermal decomposition of limestone (calcium carbonate) into lime (calcium oxide) and carbon dioxide, alongside emissions from the combusti , Claims:We claims

1. A blended cementitious binder composition comprising:
a. an cement in an amount ranging from 25% to 50% by weight, with a particle size distribution of 50 µm to 90 µm;
