Abstract: ABSTRACT A spinning machine (1) includes: an acquisition unit (15a) configured to acquire a storage length of yarn (5) in a yarn storage device (23) at a predetermined acquisition point in time after a yarn defect is detected; a suction device (24) capable of sucking the yarn (5) downstream from the yarn storage device (23); a suction assisting member (55,59,65) capable of performing a suction assisting operation of assisting suction of the yarn (5); and an operation control unit (15b) configured to control a stop timing to stop winding of the yarn (5) in the winding device (25) and an operation timing to start the suction assisting operation of the suction assisting member (55,59,65), based on the acquired storage length.
