Abstract: An apparatus for managing a battery according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a profile acquisition part configured to acquire a gas amount profile indicating correspondence between a gas generation amount and a peak change amount of the battery; a profile generation part configured to generate a differential profile with respect to a battery profile indicating correspondence between a capacity and a differential voltage of the battery; and a control part configured to determine a change amount of a target peak in a profile received from the profile generation part and configure a usage condition of the battery on the basis of a comparison result between a preconfigured control reference with respect to the gas amount profile and the determined change amount of the target peak.
