Abstract: This electric work vehicle comprises: a battery (4) that is mounted on the body; an inverter (14) that converts the DC power of the battery (4) to AC power; a motor (M) that is driven by the AC power converted by the inverter (14); a rotational speed information acquiring unit (41) that acquires rotational speed information indicating the rotational speed of the motor (M); a traveling device (42) that is driven by the motor (M); an operation tool (43) that changes a requested rotational speed that is requested to the motor (M); and a control unit (44) that drives the inverter (14) in accordance with the rotational speed information and the requested rotational speed and thereby controls the current flowing through the motor (M). When the load of the motor (M) becomes higher than a preset load, the control unit (44) stops driving the motor (M) regardless of the requested rotational speed.
