Roll For Manufacturing Electrode Of Secondary Battery And Electrode Manufacturing Apparatus Employing Same

Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrode manufacturing apparatus for rolling and transferring an electrode in the form of a sheet in which at least one surface of a metal foil having a first surface and a second surface as the reverse side thereof is coated with an active material layer. At least one of a mill roll for rolling the electrode and a travel roll for transferring the electrode after rolling of the electrode comprises: a base roll which has a predetermined diameter and has a base surface at the outer circumference thereof; and a step ring which is coupled to the outer circumference of the base roll and has a step surface formed to have an enlarged diameter greater than the diameter of the base surface. The step ring is detachably coupled to the base roll. The step size is different from the thickness of the active material layer. The coefficient of friction as measured at the surface of the step surface is different from the coefficient of friction of the base surface. The modulus of elasticity of the step ring is smaller than the modulus of elasticity of the base roll.
