Resistance Reduced Cylindrical Battery

Abstract: The present invention relates to: an electrode assembly in which a first electrode (cathode) has a tab structure and a second electrode (anode) has a tabless structure; and a cylindrical battery including same. The first electrode (2) has a tab structure, and the second electrode (4) has a tabless structure. That is, a first electrode tab (23) protrudes from one axial side of the electrode assembly (1), and a second electrode uncoated portion (41) is exposed on the other axial side. The electrode assembly (1) is accommodated in a battery can (6) so that the first electrode tab (23) is electrically connected to a lead (63) of the battery can (6) and the second electrode uncoated portion (41) is electrically connected to the battery can (6). In this case, the axial length of the first electrode (2) is shorter than the axial length of the second electrode (4), and the distance between one axial side end of the first electrode (2) and one axial side end of the second electrode (4) is shorter than the distance between the other axial side end of the first electrode (2) and a point at which the uncoated portion (21, 41) in the second electrode (4) starts. Only a portion of the first electrode tab (23), in which interference with the second electrode (4) is likely to occur, may be insulated.
