Abstract: A core design device (100) acquires application parameters including a parameter indicating an application method of a deformation pattern (310a, 310b). The core design device (100) applies the deformation pattern (310a, 310b) to an element to be designed in accordance with the application method included in the application parameter, and thereby modifies the shape of the element to be designed. The core design device (100) determines the shape of a core on the basis of a value indicating the characteristics of a device having the core for which the shape of the element to be designed has been modified, such characteristics being observed when the device is operated.
