Abstract: The present invention relates to a separator for an electrochemical device, comprising: a porous polymer substrate; and a porous coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate, wherein the porous coating layer includes first binder particles, second binder particles and inorganic particles, the inorganic particles are most abundantly distributed on a first surface facing the porous polymer substrate, the second binder particles are most abundantly distributed on a second surface opposite to the first surface, and the weight per particle of the inorganic particles is greater than the weight per particle of each of the first binder particles and the second binder particles.
