Abstract: The present invention provides a cyclic olefin copolymer which comprises a constituent unit (A) that is derived from an olefin monomer represented by formula (1) and a constituent unit (B) that is derived from at least one cyclic olefin monomer selected from the group consisting of a cyclic olefin monomer represented by formula (2) and a cyclic olefin monomer represented by formula (3), wherein: if the total content of the constituent unit (A) and the constituent unit (B) in the cyclic olefin copolymer is taken as 100% by mole, the content of the constituent unit (A) is 40% by mole to 70% by mole and the content of the constituent unit (B) is 30% by mole to 60% by mole; the weight average molecular weight (Mw) as determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) is 50,000 to 500,000; and the glass transition temperature (Tg) is 150°C or higher.
