Abstract: The present invention relates to a separator for an electrochemical device comprising a lithium manganese-based active material, the separator comprising: a porous polymer substrate; and a porous coating layer laminated on at least one side of the porous polymer substrate and comprising inorganic particles and a polymer binder, wherein the inorganic particles are made by a sulfonic acid group that is introduced onto the surface of a metal oxide or metal hydroxide, and at least a part of the sulfonic acid group is made by hydrogen cations that are replaced with lithium cations.
