Abstract: The present invention pertains to: a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery; and a lithium secondary battery including same. The negative electrode contains both a carbon-based negative electrode active material and a silicon-based negative electrode active material, and thus exhibits excellent charge/discharge capacity and energy density. In addition, the negative electrode has the advantage of exhibiting excellent charging characteristics and lifespan characteristics during long-term charging and discharging because the degree of alignment (O.Ia) of the carbon-based negative electrode active material after activation is within a predetermined range lower than the degree of alignment (O.Ir) of the carbon-based negative electrode active material before activation.
