Abstract: The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery, and a manufacturing method therefor, the lithium secondary battery comprising: a cathode comprising a lithium-rich manganese-based oxide in which the amount of manganese in an entire metal that excludes lithium exceeds 50 mol%, and the ratio (Li/Me) of the moles of lithium to the moles of in the entire metal that excludes lithium exceeds 1; an anode; and an electrolyte, wherein, when the total discharge curve area is 100% in a dQ/dV graph obtained by differentiating the graphs of voltage V and battery discharge capacity Q measured while charging the lithium secondary battery to 4.6 V at 0.1 C, and then discharging same to 2.0 V at 0.1 C, the discharge curve area in the voltage range of 2.0-3.5 V is 35% or less.
