Electrical Apparatus Comprising At Least One Gelled Material

Abstract: The present invention relates to an electrical apparatus (1) comprising a winding (7), at least one composition comprising at least one dielectric fluid, preferably a dielectric liquid, and at least one material in gelled form (12), arranged inside the cavity (5) of a housing (3), and wherein the ratio between the maximum volume occupied by the material in gelled form (12) and the total volume of the cavity (5) is less than 50%. The invention also relates to the use of a material (12) in gelled form for preventing and/or minimising leaks of a composition (9) comprising at least one dielectric fluid within an electrical apparatus (1), in particular a transformer or a capacitor.
