Lithium Secondary Battery Having Long Lifespan
Abstract: The present invention relates to a lithium-sulfur battery exhibiting long-lifespan characteristics, and provides novel parameters for the characteristics of a lithium-sulfur battery exhibiting long-lifespan characteristics. The lithium-sulfur battery according to the present invention comprises a positive electrode comprising a sulfur-carbon composite, a negative electrode, a separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and an electrolyte, wherein the negative electrode comprises a lithium metal layer and a solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) formed on at least one surface of the lithium metal layer, and the weight of elemental sulfur (S) present in the negative electrode at an SOC of 100 is 3 weight% or less based on the total weight of the negative electrode.
