Abstract: The invention relates to a braking device (10) comprising: a support (18) having a first part (18a) provided with a component (20) for attachment to handlebars; and a pivoting body (24) mounted on a second part of the support so as to pivot about a pivot axis (Y), the pivoting body comprising a brake lever (26) that projects from a first portion (24a) of the pivoting body, the pivoting body having a second portion (24b) provided with a receiving area (30) for receiving the attachment part, the pivot axis being arranged between the first portion and the second portion, the support comprising a guide member (40) having a guide axis (Z) for guiding the brake cable, the guide axis being substantially perpendicular to the pivot axis, the guide member and the receiving area extending either side of a plane (P1) that passes through the pivot axis and through the longitudinal axis of the attachment component.
