Separator For Electrochemical Device And Electrochemical Device Comprising Same

Abstract: The present invention provides a separator for an electrochemical device, the separator comprising: a porous polymer substrate; and a porous coating layer which is formed on at least one surface of the porous polymer substrate and includes inorganic particles and a polymer binder, wherein the inorganic particles have been surface-modified with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of coumarin and derivatives thereof, and the separator thus being capable of removing radicals or transition metals generated during charging/discharging of the electrochemical device to prevent performance deterioration.
