Abstract: IMPROVING THE PERFORMANCE OF AN INTEGRATED ON-BOARD CHARGING SYSTEM AND AUXILIARY POWER MODULE 5 An integrated powertrain for improving the performance of an integrated on-board charging system and auxiliary power module for a vehicle is disclosed. The integrated powertrain for the vehicle includes an on-board charger (OBC) (103), an auxiliary power module (APM) (107) and at least two non-switching elements (C1, C2) of the 10 OBC (103) are shared with the APM (107). The at least two non-switching elements (C1, C2) of the APM (107)may also be shared with the OBC (103). The shared at least two non-switching elements (C1, C2) are configured to power an auxiliary battery (107) and/or supply power to an auxiliary load from a traction battery (105).The at least two non-switching(C1, C2) elements are at least a first energy 15 storage element. The first energy storage elements are a plurality of capacitors (C1, C2), a top capacitor (C1) and a bottom capacitor (C2) which are configured to be charged alternatively. We Claim:
1. An integrated powertrain for a vehicle comprising:
an on-board charger (OBC) (103);
5 an auxiliary power module (APM) (107); and
at least two non-switching elements (C1, C2) of the OBC (103) are shared
with the APM (107).
2. The integrated powertrain as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least two nonswitching elements (C1, C2) of the APM (107) are shared with the OBC (103).
10 3. Theintegrated powertrain as claimed in claim 1, wherein the shared at least two
non-switching elements (C1, C2) are configured to power an auxiliary battery
(107) and/or supply power to an auxiliary load from a traction battery (105)
4. The integrated powertrain as claimed in claim 1, wherein the shared at least two
non-switching elements (C1, C2) are configured to power a traction battery (105)
15 from a DC source.
5. The integrated powertrain as claimed in claim 1, wherein the at least two nonswitching (C1, C2) elements are at least a first energy storage element.
6. The integrated powertrain as claimed in claim 5, wherein the first energy storage
elements are a plurality of capacitors(C1, C2), a top capacitor (C1) and a bottom
20 capacitor (C2), wherein the top capacitor (C1) and the bottom capacitor (C2) of a
second leg (L5) are configured to charged alternatively.
7. The integrated powertrain as claimed in claim 1,
wherein the OBC (103) comprises of at least a first inverter (103a), at least
a first transformer (103b), and at least a first rectifier (103c); and

wherein the APM (107) comprises at least a second inverter (107a), at
least a second transformer (107b), and at least a second rectifier (107c);
wherein the first rectifier (103c)of the OBC (103)shares at least two nonswitching elements(C1, C2) with the second inverter (107a) of the APM (107).
