Abstract: TITLE: “A PARTICULATE FILTER ASSEMBLY FOR AN EXHAUST AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM” ABSTRACT The present disclosure discloses a particulate filter assembly (100) for an exhaust 5 aftertreatment system (200). The assembly (100) includes a particulate filter (2) disposed in an exhaust conduit (1). A cleaning provision (4) is disposed in the exhaust conduit (1). The cleaning provision (4) includes a duct (6) defined with a first end (11) and a second end (12). The duct (6) receives a probe (9) for dispensing a cleaning fluid onto the particulate filter (2). A plug (5) is connectable to the first end (11) of the duct (6). Furthermore, a flap (7) is pivotally 10 connected to the second end (12) of the duct (6). The flap (7) is adapted to operate between a closed and an open condition. The probe (9) received in the duct (6) operates the flap (7) from the closed to the open condition for dispensing the cleaning fluid onto the particulate filter (2). Figs. 1 and 2 are the representative figures.
We claim:
1. A particulate filter assembly (100) for an exhaust aftertreatment system (200) of a
vehicle, the particulate filter assembly (100) comprising:
5 a particulate filter (2) disposed in an exhaust conduit (1) of the vehicle;
a cleaning provision (4) disposed in the exhaust conduit (1), adjacent and
upstream to the particulate filter (2), the cleaning provision (4) comprises:
a duct (6) defined with a first end (11) and a second end (12) opposite to
the first end (11), the first end (11) of the duct (6) extending out of the exhaust
10 conduit (1) and the second end (12) being disposed inside the exhaust conduit
(1) adjacent to the particulate filter (2), wherein the duct (6) is structured to
receive a probe (9) for dispensing a cleaning fluid onto the particulate filter (2);
a plug (5) removably connectable to the first end (11) of the duct (6);
and
15 a flap (7) pivotally connected to the second end (12) of the duct (6), the
flap (7) adapted to operate between a closed condition and an open condition,
wherein the probe (9) received in the duct (6) is adapted to abut and operate the
flap (7) from the closed condition to the open condition to dispense the cleaning
fluid in the exhaust conduit (1) and onto the particulate filter (2).
20 2. The particulate filter assembly (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the duct (6) is
defined with:
a first section extending from the first end (11); and
a second section defined between the first section and the second end (12) of
the duct (6).
25
3. The particulate filter assembly (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the first section is
defined with a tapered profile having larger diameter at the first end (11) and a smaller
diameter towards the second section.
30 4. The particulate filter assembly (100) as claimed in claim 2, wherein the second section
is defined with a cylindrical profile.
15
5. The particulate filter assembly (100) as claimed in claim 1, wherein the plug (5) is
positioned
