Abstract: Abstract Title: A System and a Method for Self-Evaluation and a Performance Optimization of a Student The present invention relates to a system (100) and a method (200) for self-evaluation and performance optimization. The system (100) includes a first electronic device (10) having a student’s interface module (10a) for entering the details of a student thereto and enabling the student to select a subject therethrough. A second electronic device (20) having a teacher’s interface module (20a). The teacher’s interface module (20a) enables the teacher to enter multiple choice questions thereto along with a set of options from the selected subject to test the student. Further, a cloud server (30) having an interface module (30a), the interface module (30a) is connected to the student interface module (10a) and the teacher interface module (20a), the interface module (30a) is connected to a database (50). Description:Field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to a self-evaluation of students. More particularly, the present invention relates to a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization of a student in academics.

Background of the invention

[0002] Generally, in the existing system when students are assessed during examination, they receive final scores in each and every subject, which decide their final grades, which fails to describe the teachers, guide, mentors that the students have understood the particular concept on a particular subject. In this way, student’s knowledge on a particular concept of a particular subject is not tested properly which may be the source of the error while performing during exams.
[0003] Further, there are many manual scrutiny methods where students can check that how they have performed during exams. However, these scrutiny methods are very time taking, complex and expensive. Also, these manual scrutiny methods are not effective.

[0004] Therefore, there is a need for a system and a method for enhanced self-evaluation and performance optimization which can overcome few or all the drawbacks of the existing prior art.

Objects of the invention

[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization of a student.

[0006] Another object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization of a student, which ensures that the student learns the concept completely.

[0007] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization of a student, which is fully automated thereby eliminating the need for human intervention.

[0008] One more object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization of a student, which is accurate.

[0009] Another one object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization of a student, which is cost-effective.

[0010] One more object of the present invention is to provide a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization of students, which is simple in operation.

Summary of the invention

[0011] According to the present invention, there is provided a system and a method for self-evaluation and performance of a student. The system includes a first electronic device, a second electronic device and a server.

[0012] The first electronic device may have a student’s interface module for entering the details of a student thereto and enabling the student to select a subject, multiple choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer therethrough. The first electronic device may be mobile, a laptop, a personal computer, or Internet of things (IoT) device of the student. Also, in the present embodiment, the details of the student may include a name, age, gender, photograph, address, subject, roll number, semester, pursuing year, course, student ID and the like.

[0013] The second electronic device may have a teacher’s interface module. The teacher’s interface module may be connected to the student’s interface module. The teacher’s interface module enables the teacher to enter multiple choice questions along with the set of answers thereto for the selected subject to test the student. The second electronic device may be a mobile, laptop, personal computer Internet of things (IoT) devices of the teacher. Also, the details of the teacher may include a name, age, gender, photograph, address, experience of a teacher, teacher ID and the like. Specifically, the system may be configured using a website, the student interface module includes a set of student web pages and the teacher’s interface module having a set of teacher web pages. The student webpages and the teacher web pages are interactive web pages. In addition, the system is may configured as a mobile application, the student interface module has a first application and the teacher’s interface module has a second application. The first application and the second application are connected through an internet connection.

[0014] Additionally, a cloud server is having an interface module. The cloud server which is accessible to authority only. The interface module may connected to the student interface module and the teacher interface module. The interface module stores the details of the student and the multiple-choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer. The interface module is connected to a database. The database is having prestored details of the subjects, multiple choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer. Each step of the multiple steps include multiple answers stating the reason for selecting the answer. The database is connected to a cloud sever for storing data. Specifically, the details of the prestored multiple choice questions along with set of answers and the multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer are updated in real time.

[0015] The student selects the correct answer through the student interface module for a multiple-choice question for the selected subject, and a step having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept. Specifically, in the present embodiment, the student may select single answer, or multiple answer for the multiple choice questions.

[0016] Further, there is provided a method for self-evaluation and performance of a student. The method includes steps of providing a teacher’s interface module for enabling the teacher to enter multiple choice questions along with a set of answers from the selected subject and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps to test the student and providing a student’s interface module for entering the details of a student thereto and enabling the student to select a subject, multiple choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer therethrough.

[0017] Furthermore, the teacher’s interface module includes steps of adding multiple choice questions along with a set of answers from the selected subject through a teacher’s interface module, adding multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, previewing the multiple-choice question along with the set of answer and the multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, saving and publishing the multiple-choice questions with the selected answer and the multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer on the database and adding alternate multiple-choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject to the interface module, for the student to select the correct answer and correct step having the description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, thereby creating a test for the student, repeating the method until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept.

[0018] Moreover, the student interface module includes steps of starting the test by entering the details of a student through a student’s interface module and enabling the student to select a subject, multiple-choice question along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer therethrough, selecting an answer for a multiple-choice question from the selected subject, selecting a step from the multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, reviewing and checking the multiple-choice question with the selected answer and the selected step having a description stating the reason or steps, if any update is required, then update the selected answer and the steps having the description selected step having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, if not then previewing the multiple-choice question with the selected answer and the multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps.

[0019] Also, the method includes steps of submitting the selected answer and the selected step having a description stating the reason or steps, displaying the score and the number of attempts to the student, if the selected answer and the selected step having a description stating the reason or steps are incorrect, then revising the content provided for a given concept or if there is any alternate multiple-choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, if alternate multiple-choice questions along with the set of options are available then repeating the method to auto evaluate the test result until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept and if not then repeating the method until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept and submitting the selected answer and the selected steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer and displaying the score and the number of attempts to the student.

Detailed description of the invention

[0028] The present invention describes a system and a method for self-evaluation and a performance optimization. The system and the method define the path to reach the correct answer by selecting the correct options from steps predefined by a teacher. The system and the method ensure that student fully grasp the concept. The system and the method analyses students' patterns based on their selected paths to reach the defined answer.

[0029] The terms “first,” “second,” and the like, herein do not denote any order, quantity, or importance, but rather are used to distinguish one element from another, and the terms “a” and “an” herein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item.

[0030] Referring now to figure 1, the system (100) for self-evaluation and performance optimization of a student in accordance with the present invention is illustrated. The system (100) includes a first electronic device (10), a second electronic device (20) and a cloud server (30). The first electronic device (10) is having a student’s interface module (10a) for entering the details of a student thereto and enabling the student to select a subject, multiple choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer therethrough. The first electronic device (10) is a laptop. But, it may be obvious a person skilled in the art to use any electronic device such as mobile, personal computer, Internet of things (IoT) device or the like. Specifically, the student interface module (10a) is used for entering the details of the student such as name, age, gender, photograph, address, subject, roll number, semester, pursuing year, course, student ID and the like. In the present embodiment, the detail of the student is entered through a keyboard, a mouse, a light pen, a microphone of the first electronic device (10). Also, it may be obvious to a person to use voice assistance devices (not shown), such as Alexa (trade name) for entering the details of the student. The first electronic device (10) is connected to the voice assistance device through a wireless connection for providing the details of the student over voice. Once the details are entered by the student through the student interface module (10), the student selects the subject for which the student wants to get tested.

[0031] The second electronic device (20) has a teacher’s interface module (20a). The teacher’s interface module (20a) is connected to the student's interface module (10a). The teacher's interface module (20a) enables the teacher to enter multiple choice questions thereto along with a set of answers for the selected subject and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer thereto to test the student. The teacher’s interface module(20a) is used to enter the details of the teacher such as name, age, gender, photograph, address, experience of a teacher, teacher ID and the like. In the present embodiment, the second electronic device (20) is a laptop. But, it may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to use any electronic device such as mobile, personal computer, Internet of things (IoT) devices and the like. In the present embodiment, the multiple-choice questions along with a set of answers from the selected subject, multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer and teacher’s details is entered through a keyboard, a mouse, a light pen, a microphone of the second electronic device (20). It may be obvious to a person skilled in the art to use any input devices for entering teacher’s detail and multiple-choice questions along with a set of answers.

[0032] Referring again to figure 1a, the cloud server (30) is having an interface module (30a). The cloud server (30) is accessible by any electronic device of the authority. Specifically, in the present embodiment, the authority is an admin. The interface module (30a) is connected to the student interface module (10a) and the teacher interface module (20a) to establish a connection therebetween. The interface module (30a) stores the details of the student such as name, age, gender, photograph, address, subject, roll number, semester, pursuing year, course, student ID and the like, details of the teacher such as name, age, gender, photograph, address, experience of a teacher, teacher ID and the like, details of the subject such as subject name, topics related to the subject and the multiple-choice questions along with the set of options from the selected subject. Specifically, the interface module (30a) is connected to a database (50). The database (50) is connected to the cloud server (30) for storing data. The database (50) is having prestored details of the subjects, multiple choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer and the details of the student and the teacher. Each step of the multiple steps include multiple answers stating the reason for selecting the answer.

[0033] Referring now to figure 1b illustrates an embodiment of the system (100) configured as a website. The student interface module (10a) includes a set of student web pages (10c). The teacher’s interface module (20a) is having a set of teacher web pages (20c). The student web pages (10c), and the teacher web pages (20c) are interactive web pages. Once the connection is established between the student interface module (10a) and the teacher’s interface module (20a), the student selects the subject through the student interface module (10a) for making an attempt. Once the subject is selected, the student selects an answer from the set of answers provided for the multiple-choice questions and submit the answer. In the present embodiment, the student selects single answer, multiple answer for the multiple type question, a multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer and a combination thereof

Also, if the selected answer is incorrect and the selected step having a description stating the reason or step for selecting the answer is incorrect, the student has to make another attempt to select the correct answer and the step having a description stating the reason or step for selecting the answer.

[0037] Once the student has completed the attempt and grasped the concept, the teacher evaluates the score for the selected subject of the student, thereby assessing the student performance. The final score will be displayed on a display screen (40a) of the first electronic device (10) for the student (as shown in figure 1a, 1b and 1c). Also, the final score is simultaneously displayed on a display screen (40b) of the second electronic device (20). The final score of the student is stored in the database (50) for future reference.

[0038] Referring now to figure 1c, illustrates another embodiment of the system (100) configured as a mobile application, the student interface module (10a) has a first application (10b), and the teacher’s interface module (20a) has a second application (20b). The first application (10b) and the second application (20b) are connected through an internet connection on a common cloud server (30). The first application (10b) and the second application (20b) are downloaded from a play store. The first application (10b) and the second application (20b) are connected through the interface module (30a). Upon establishing the connection, the detail of the student is entered through the first application (10b) (Mobile App) and the second application (20b) enables the teacher to enter multiple choice questions thereto along with a set of answers from the selected subject to test the student details of the teacher. Also, the second application (20b) enables the teacher to to enter the details of the teacher such as name, age, gender, photograph, address, experience of a teacher, teacher ID and the like.

[0039] Once the connection is established between the first application (10b) (Mobile App) and the second application (20b), the student selects the subject through the first application (10b) for making an attempt. Once the subject is selected, the student selects an answer from the set of answers provided for the multiple-choice questions and submit the answer. Also, the display screen (40) will display total number of main questions, total number of attempted questions (including the alternate attempted questions) and the total time taken by the student to complete the test.

a second electronic device (20) having a teacher’s interface module (20a), the teacher’s interface module (20a) connects to the student's interface module (10a), the teacher's interface module (20a) enables the teacher to enter multiple choice questions, along with the set of answers for the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer thereto to test the student;
a cloud server (30) having an interface module (30a), the interface module (30a) connects the student interface module (10a) and the teacher interface module (20a), the interface module (30a) stores the details of the student, teacher and the multiple choice questions along with the set of options from the selected subject, the interface module (30a) is connected to a database (50), the database (50) is having prestored details of the subjects, multiple choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer; and
wherein the student is allowed to select the answer through the student interface module (10a) for a multiple-choice question for the selected subject, and a step having a description for stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept.

providing a teacher’s interface module (20a) for enabling the teacher to enter multiple choice questions along with a set of answers from a selected subject and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer to test the student; and
providing a student’s interface module (10a) for entering the details of a student thereto and enabling the student to select a subject, multiple choice questions along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer therethrough.

13. The method (300) performs using a teacher’s interface module (20a) for self-evaluation and performance optimization of a student as claimed in claim 12, the method (300) comprising steps of:
adding multiple choice questions along with a set of answers from the selected subject through the teacher’s interface module (20a);

adding multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer;

previewing the multiple-choice question along with the set of answer and the multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer;

adding alternate multiple-choice questions along with the set of answer from the selected subject to an interface module (30a), for the student to select the correct answer and correct step having the description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, thereby creating a test for the student; and
repeating the method (300) until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept.

14. A method (400) performs using a student’s interface module (10a) for self-evaluation and performance optimization of a student as claimed in claim 12, the method (400) comprising steps of:
starting the test by entering the details of a student through the student’s interface module (10a) and enabling the student to select a subject, multiple-choice question along with the set of answers from the selected subject, and multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer therethrough;
selecting an answer for a multiple-choice question from the selected subject by the student through the student interface module (10a);
selecting a step from the multiple steps having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer;
reviewing and checking the multiple-choice question with the selected answer and the selected steps having a description stating the reason or steps, if any update is required, then updating the selected answer and the selected step having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer, if not then, previewing the multiple-choice question with the selected answer and the selected step having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer;
submitting the selected answer and the selected step having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer;
displaying the score and the number of attempts to the student, if the selected answer and selected step having a description stating the reason or steps are incorrect, then revising the content provided for a given concept or if alternate multiple-choice questions along with the set of answer are available then repeating the method (400) to auto evaluate the test result until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept and if not, repeating the method (400) until the student selects the correct answer to ensure that the student grasp the concept ; and
submitting the selected answer and the selected step having a description stating the reason or steps for selecting the answer and displaying the score and the number of attempts of the student.
