Abstract: ABSTRACT Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector Helmet An Integrated Safety Harness system (10) with Voltage Detector Helmet (5) comprising of; communicative snap hooks (4) interlinked through a wireless communication (6) entirely powered through Solar power; pressure sensors(3) (limit switches) for communicating solely with the device and to confirm that the helmet has been properly worn; alarm & vibration(7) for safety when the device gets triggered to intimate the lineman; mechanically welded a small curvature (2) on the snap hooks (4) & connected the pressure switches (3) on the snap hooks(4) for operating whenever some pressure is imparted on the hooks(4) indicating in the form of the signal turns green; The voltage detection system (7) with the helmet gets power supply from the solar panel fitted on top of the device with the helmet which charges the battery inside the voltage detector fitted with the helmet.
Description:FIELD OF INVENTION:
The present invention relates to safety systems for the power sector. More particularly, the
present invention relates to “Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector Helmet”.
BACKGROUND OF INVENTION:
Various types of helmets have been in use in the sport of football, ever since individuals began
wearing helmets to attempt to protect their heads many years ago. Typically, these helmets
have included: an outer shell, generally made of an appropriate plastic material, having the
requisite strength and durability characteristics to enable them to be used in the sport of
football; some type of shock absorbing liner within the shell; a face guard; and a chin protector,
or chin strap, that fits snugly about the chin of the wearer of the helmet, in order to secure the
helmet to the wearer's head, as are all known in the art.
A prior art reference CN110428580B discloses Household safety intelligent control method.
The invention discloses an intelligent control method for family safety, and belongs to the
technical field of fire safety. A household safety intelligent control method comprises a set of
household electrical fire and other fire monitoring control methods, a fire escape device
application method, a household electrical appliance intelligent safety control method, a
household gas safety monitoring processing method, a household water safety processing
method and a household anti-theft processing control method, wherein six types of household
safety control methods are adopted, carriers of the six types of household safety control
methods are a plurality of intelligent devices, the intelligent devices are integrated into a main
control chip and a wireless communication module through embedded software and
corresponding algorithms, one-to-one or one-to-many data exchange among the devices is
realized, an independent network system is formed, and data in the system is compared with
safety data in the embedded algorithms after being calculated, so that hidden danger or
dangerous data are screened.
Another prior art reference US20180308385A1 discloses Augmented and mediated reality
welding helmet systems. A welding helmet system is provided. The welding helmet system
includes a protective shell and a welding display system. The welding display system is
configured to be removably coupled to the protective shell. The welding display system is
configured to receive 30 data from a sensor, and to display a welding metric derived from the
sensor via the image generation system.

Another prior art means is disclosed in US20180308385A1. Augmented and mediated reality
welding helmet systems. A welding helmet system is provided. The welding helmet system
includes a protective shell and a welding display system. The welding display system is
configured to be removably coupled to the protective shell. The welding display system is
configured to receive data from a sensor, and to display a welding metric derived from the
sensor via the image generation system.
Another prior art means is disclosed in US20120222197A1 as Protective helmet with cervical
spine protection and additional brain protection. A protective helmet, which includes a motion
restrictor device, is disclosed which has at least one strut member associated with the helmet
and a harness assembly, and the at least one strut member includes a locking assembly
associated with the strut member, which upon a predetermined force being sensed by a force
sensor or a predetermined amount of or rate of acceleration being sensed by an acceleration
sensor, stops substantially all relative motion between the ends of the strut member and the
predetermined force is substantially transferred from the helmet to the harness assembly.
Conventional ways of safety are actually manually driven & only training & awareness to the
lineman on usage of PPEs. So there is a need in the prior art to provide Integrated Safety
Harness system with Voltage Detector Helmet. The present invention alerts & identifies the
safe working practices in all respects while working at height, which in turn saves the life of
workmen in spite of intentional or unintentional mistakes like unfastened harness, not wearing
a helmet, or unanchored hooks, working in the vicinity of a live network etc. The present
invention gets trigged & an alarm with vibration alerts the lineman about a potential hazard.
The present invention monitors power lineman working at height and to determine if any coworker or bystander operating at height is entirely within a safe zone and intimates the lineman
regarding the corrective measures.
OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION:
The main object of the present invention is to alert & identify the safe working practices in all
respects while working at height, which in turn saves the life of workmen in spite of intentional
or unintentional mistakes like unfastened harness, not wearing a helmet, or unanchored hooks,
working in the vicinity of a live network etc.
Yet another object of the present invention is to provide the Integrated Safety Harness system

with Voltage Detector Helmet which gets trigged & an alarm with vibration alerts the lineman
about a potential hazard.
Yet another object of the present invention is to monitor power lineman working at height and
to determine if any co-worker or bystander operating at height is entirely within a safe zone
and intimates the lineman regarding the corrective measures.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION:
Accordingly, an Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector is disclosed. Helmet
which gets trigged & an alarm with vibration alerts the lineman about a potential hazard. The
present invention helps to monitor power lineman working at height and to determine if any
coworker or bystander operating at height is entirely within a safe zone and intimates the
lineman regarding the corrective measures. The present invention alerts & identifies the safe
working practices in all respects while working at height, which in turn saves the life of
workmen in spite of intentional or unintentional mistakes.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS:
Fig 1 depicts an Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector in which When the
Belt is Open, the Device is in OFF State or Not Triggered. When the Belt is correctly fastened,
the Device starts blinking red signal & vibrating, the device i.e. integrated with the safety
helmet & the harness, communciating wirelessly through each other) .
Fig 2 depicts an Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector in which when the
Lineman is wearing the helmet. Once he wears the helmet, the signal changes from Blinking
Red to Constant Red & accordingly the vibrations.(how does the device gets signal to change
the status). Pressure sensors are present inside the safety belt & the safety helmet, so whenever
the helmet / belt is properly worn, the limit switches gets activated giving positive signal to the
device.
Fig 3 shows the Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector in which As the
lineman climbs up the ladder, & fastens the snap hooks. When both the snap hooks will be
connected, the Device turns green & the vibration stops. As one of the hook is diconnected, the
deive turns red & starts vibrating – alerting the power lineman.

Fig 4 shows the Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector in which, at height if
the helmet is loose, but the snap hooks are connected, the Green Signal stats blinking, alerting
the coworker of the necessary precautions.
Fig 5 shows the Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector in which When the
integrated device is close to a Live Network, the voltage detection system gets trigged & an
alarm with vibration alerts the lineman of a potential hazard.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DESCRIPTION WITH RESPECT TO
DRAWINGS:
The present invention is an Integrated Safety Harness system with Voltage Detector Helmet.
The present invention is capable of sensing whether the Harness & helmet are properly
tightened. The present invention also detects all kinds of High Voltage. The Safety Belt of the
present invention has pressure sensors to detect whether the belt has been properly tightened
& buckled. As a Safety, Belt & Helmet must be properly worn by the power lineman; the sensor
keeps lineman alert through a beep sound & vibration. Unless the power lineman fastens the
fall arrestor against the cross-arms or any other object while working at height, the vibration &
alarm keeps the lineman alerted. HV detection alerts the lineman through an alarm & vibration
in vicinity of a live line. Any co-worker or bystander at once determines if a person operating
at height is entirely within a safe zone, else, he intimates the lineman regarding the corrective
measures. The entire innovation is completely solar powered & are wirelessly interlinked.
In another embodiment, the present invention alerts & identifies the safe working practices in
all respects while working at height, which in turn saves the life of workmen. All the intentional
or unintentional mistake like unfastened harness, not wearing a helmet, or unanchored hooks
etc are also taken care by the system of the present invention. The present invention is an
initiative related to the safety & saving of a human life for an individual or at individual
department level rather from Top management to the bottom-line employees. Human safety is
of paramount importance, particularly in power sector. The present invention helps in Zero
Accident at workplace and protects industrial power lineman working at height.
In one embodiment, the present invention is an Integrated Safety Harness system (10) with
Voltage Detector Helmet (5). The system of the present invention, i. e. Safety Helmet(
constructional features of helmet are different from a normal helmet; as in the changes made
in normal helmet or mechanism built to interact with safety harness) & Safety Harness
connected with advanced communicative snap hooks(4) , interlinked through a wireless

communication entirely powered through Solar power. The helmet is fitted with pressure
sensors(3) (limit switches) that enable or communicate solely with the device thereby
confirming that the helmet has been properly worn. In addition, it has a solar power high
voltage detection system, integrated to the device connected to safety harness. Therefore, in
case of any safety violation, the device gets triggered to intimate the lineman through a
continuous alarm & vibration(7). The normal helmet is not fitting with pressure sensors or high
power voltage detection system. The present invention is mechanically welded a small
curvature (2) on the snap hooks (4) & connected the pressure switches (3) on the snap hooks(4)
, so that the pressure /limit switches(3) operate whenever some pressure is imparted on the
hooks(4) . Therefore, whenever the snap hooks are being pressed (3) against any fastening
material, the signal turns green. In case any one of the snap hooks are attached, the continuity
is missed & the alarm gets triggered. The red light on the device & the vibration starts alerting
the worker & co-worker of an unsafe zone. The voltage detection system (7) with the helmet
which gets power supply from the solar panel fitted on top of the device with the helmet. The
solar power charges the battery inside the voltage detector fitted with the helmet. All the signals
are transmitted wirelessly through infrared communications. The present invention is IP54
protected, making it suitable for using in an open environment, working at height in distribution
networks. The present invention has been ingeniously designed which is capable to sense
whether the Harness & helmet are properly tightened & also detects all kinds of High Voltage.
Secondly, the Safety Belt has pressure sensors(type) (these are normal pressure switches or
limit switches) to detect whether the belt has been properly tightened & buckled. As Safety
Belt & Helmet is being properly worn by the power lineman. The sensor keeps lineman alert
through a beep sound & vibration. Unless the power lineman fastens the fall arrestor against
the cross-arms or any other object while working at height, the vibration & alarm keeps the
lineman alerted. HV detection alerts the lineman through an alarm & vibration in vicinity of a
live line. Any co-worker or bystander determines if a person operating at height is entirely
within a safe zone and intimates the lineman regarding the corrective measures.
In another embodiment, for the lineman and fellow workers' safety, the present invention
vibrates and sounds an alarm, till complete safety zone for working at height in live networks
is established. Any co-worker or bystander can at once determine if a person operating at height
is entirely within a safe zone, else, can intimate the lineman regarding the corrective measures.
Thus, it is the best possible solution with technology-driven control & monitoring of power
lineman working at height. The present invention helps to alert & identify the safe working

practices in all respects while working at height, which in turn saves the life of workmen. Even
this covers intentional or unintentional mistake like unfastened harness, not wearing a helmet,
or unanchored hooks etc.
