Process For Preparing Intermetallic Graphene Oxide Nanocomposite

Abstract: A process (100; 300) for preparing intermetallic graphene oxide nanocomposite (150) is provided. The process includes obtaining (302) a mixture of iron-graphite flakes (120) by pre-processing a waste material (112). The process further includes subjecting (304) the mixture of irongraphite flakes (120) to a first acid treatment and oxidation to obtain a composite of iron oxide (FeO) and graphene oxide (GO) (130). The process further includes subjecting (306) a residue material (132) including zinc and iron to a second acid treatment to obtain an intermetallic iron-zinc salt solution (136). The process further includes adding an alkali solution (138) to the intermetallic iron-zinc salt solution (136) to form intermetallic iron (Fe)- zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (140). The process (100) further includes blending the composite of iron oxide (FeO) and graphene oxide (GO) and the intermetallic iron (Fe)-zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles to form intermetallic graphene oxide nanocomposite (150).
