Abstract: Hot metal desulphurization reagent, process of preparation and applications thereof The present disclosure provides a composition comprising a desulfurization reagent comprising CaSi, which reduces or partially replaces the amount of conventionally used calcium carbide. The present disclosure also provides a safe and non-hazardous composition with similar DS efficiency as compared to the conventionally used carbide-based reagents, which when employed for desulphurization of hot metal results is large reduction of carbon emissions.
