Systems And Methods For Supplying Inert Gas For Homogenizing Molten Metal

Abstract: System (101) and method (800) for supplying inert gas to a furnace is described. Initially, the inert gas is supplied (802) at a first flow rate (FR1) in the furnace through one or more plugs for a first time period (T1). Then the inert gas is supplied (802) at a second flow rate (FR2) in the furnace through the one or more plugs for a second time period (T2). Thus, controlling the flow rate and time period for supplying the inert gas to the ladle furnace is rectangular in nature. As a result, the mixing time and the consumption of gas are reduced, thereby improving the efficiency of the ladle furnace. <<----- To be published with Figure 8 ----->>
