Abstract: An apparatus (100) and a method (600) of Resistance Spot Welding (RSW) of at least one first substrate (110) and at least one second substrate (112) are disclosed. A set of weld currents of varying current profiles along with force is applied to the first substrate (110) and the second substrate (112) accommodated in a substrate joint configuration via the one or more electrodes (106, 108) for a total welding time. The magnitude of the set of weld currents is increased progressively by a predefined value for each successive time interval of the total welding time. Then, force alone is applied onto the first substrate (110) and second substrate (112) for a hold time resulting in a welded joint of the first substrate (110) and the second substrate (112).
