Abstract: TITLE: “METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FEEDSTOCK WIRE FOR WIRE ARC ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING AND A FEEDSTOCK WIRE THEREOF” ABSTRACT A method of manufacturing a feedstock wire for a wire arc additive manufacturing process is disclosed. The method includes steps of forming, a cast block, comprising an alloying composition in wt.% of Carbon (C) 0.07-0.08 wt.%, Manganese (Mn) 1.55-1.60 wt.%, Silicon (Si) 0.53-0.58wt.%, Phosphorus (P) 0.01% max., Sulphur (S) 0.01% max., Chromium (Cr) 0.05 max. wt.%, Nickel (Ni) 0.05 max. wt.%, Molybdenum (Mo) 0.02 max. wt.%, Aluminium (Al) 0.01 wt.%, Copper (Cu) 0.05 wt.%, Nitrogen (N) 68 ppm, Titanium (Ti) 0.020 wt.%, Vanadium (V) 0.002 wt.%; and balance being substantially iron and incidental impurities, through a casting process. The block is hot rolled to produce wire rods. The wire rods are cooled to a room temperature and are subjected a wire drawing process. The wire drawing process includes a subjecting the wire rod to a dry drawing process and subjecting the wire rods to a wet wire drawing process. Figure 1 is the representative figure.
