Abstract: TITLE: “A LOW ALLOY HIGH STRENGTH STEEL HIGH FORGEABILITY AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF” ABSTRACT The present disclosure discloses a method of manufacturing a low alloy high strength-high forgeability steel for cold-heading applications. The method includes casting, a steel billet, comprising an alloying composition of: Carbon (C) 0.2-0.3 wt.%, Manganese (Mn) of 0.9 – 1.1 wt. %, Silicon (Si) 0.1-0.5 wt. %, Chromium (Cr) 0.3 wt.%, Nickel (Ni) 0.3 wt.%, Copper (Cu) 0.1-0.2 wt. %, Boron (B) 0.003-0.006 wt. %, Titanium (Ti) 0.1-0.2 wt. %, balance being substantially iron and incidental impurities. After casting, homogenizing, the steel billet, by austenitizing at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time and subjecting to a hot rolling process to reduce thickness to about 80%, and subjecting, the hot rolled steel to a slow cooling to a room temperature at a predetermined cooling rate. The low alloy high strength-high forgeability steel includes a microstructure which is majorly ferrite and pearlite with mixed amount of bainite. Fig. 1
