Abstract: APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SINTER PARAMETERS TO IMPROVE SINTER QUALITY ABSTRACT The present disclosure provides an apparatus (206) and a method (500) for maintaining an optimal compaction level of a sinter bed (110). The apparatus 5 includes a sensor unit (208) and a control circuitry (210). The sensor unit detects a distance signal of a sinter mix (102) dispensed from a feeding device (202) onto the sinter bed of a sintering system (100). The control circuitry computes a compaction level of the sinter mix on the sinter bed based on the distance signal. The control circuitry generates a control instruction to control an operating speed of the feeding 10 device and/or speed of moving pallet (212) for regulating the feed rate of the sinter mix to maintain one or more optimal compaction levels of the sinter mix in the sinter bed.
