System To Determine Optimal Coil Width For Coil Processing And Method Therof

Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM TO DETERMINE OPTIMAL COIL WIDTH FOR COIL PROCESSING AND METHOD THEROF Disclosed herein is a system and method for determining optimal coil width for coil processing. The system receives coil order information related to one or more coil orders of a customer. The coil order information includes customer code, coil width for each order, coil thickness for each order, coil grade for each order, coil weight for each order, and priority of order. The system determines potential coil widths of a primary coil based on correlation of the coil order information related to the coil orders and raw material availability for each coil orders. The system determines an optimal coil width of the primary coil from the potential coil widths based on the coil order information, the raw material availability and input parameters related to coil processing equipment. The determined optimal coil width of the primary coil accomplishes production of secondary coils with minimal wastage of the primary coil. [Fig. 1B]
