Description:FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[001] Present invention relates to a storage assembly for a vehicle. More particularly, the present invention relates to the storage assembly for a two-wheeled vehicle.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[002] Typically, a vehicle such as a two-wheeled vehicle, is provided with a storage compartment or a storage assembly. The storage assembly is provided to enable storing one or more articles or accessories of a rider of the vehicle, such as a helmet and the like. For scooter type of vehicles, the storage assembly is provided below a seat of the vehicle.
[003] In recent past, a larger storage space in the vehicle is one of the key factors for a user to make a purchasing decision. This may be to accommodate or store greater number of articles or accessories in the vehicle, thereby enhancing convenience and utility to the user. Moreover, in recent past regulatory authorities in certain areas are insisting or mandating to wear full faced helmets for both a rider and a pillion of the vehicle. Such a situation is making the user to opt for the vehicle which is capable of storing full-faced helmets of both the rider as well as the pillion, further enhancing convenience to the rider of the vehicle.
[004] However, conventional two-wheeled vehicles are provided with rear panels for a sleek design of the vehicle. Such positioning of the rear panels limits storage volume of the storage assembly. Consequently, reducing the number of articles that can be stored in the storage assembly. Additionally, such placement of the rear panels makes the storage assembly incapable of packaging two helmets or two full faced helmets, rendering the storage insufficient. Also, the conventional storage assembly has poor ground reachability to the user, which is undesirable. Further, the conventional storage assembly provide no space for packaging auxiliary parts such as a fuel tank of the vehicle.
[005] Furthermore, in conventional two-wheeled electric vehicles, the storage assembly is provided with a solid bottom cover. Such a storage assembly is required to be dismantled in order to access a battery pack or a traction battery or other subcomponents of the vehicle provided underneath the storage assembly, which is laborious and inconvenient.
[006] In view of the above, there is a need for a storage assembly for a vehicle, that addresses at least some of the limitations mentioned above.
