Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SPILLAGE COLLECTION IN PRESSURE COOKERS The various embodiments of the present invention provide a system and method for prevention of spillage of water and steam during the operation of pressure cookers. The embodiments also provide a system and method as a detachable unit designed to collect and contain steam or water from pressure cookers. The system is designed to capture steam and water released during cooking of pressure cookers, thereby preventing spillage and ensuring user safety. The spillage collector is placed on a specially embossed area of the lid of a pressure cooker. This spill-free solution addresses the issues of steam accidents, gas wastage, and fire risks associated with conventional pressure cookers, offering a safer, cleaner, and more efficient cooking experience. A) TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The present invention is generally related to kitchen appliances. The present invention is particularly related to pressure cookers. The present invention is more particularly related to a system and method for prevention of spillage of water and steam during the operation of pressure cookers.
B) BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] In the realm of kitchen appliances, particularly pressure cookers, current designs face a notable challenge in managing steam and water spillage. Typically, during the whistle of a pressure cooker, steam and water are released, which often spill down the sides of the cooker. This not only poses a risk of steam-related accidents and burns to the user but also leads to potential gas wastage and fire accidents if the spilled water extinguishes the stove flame. Furthermore, the excess steam and water on the lid can splatter during subsequent whistles, complicating the cooking process and creating a mess.
[0003] Current solutions, such as raised steps on the cooker lid, only partially address these problems by preventing water from spilling down the cooker's sides. However, they do not prevent steam contact with the user, necessitate complete lid removal for cleaning, and fail to stop water from spraying due to steam during subsequent whistles.
[0004] Hence, there exists a need for a system and method for prevention of spillage of water and steam during the operation of pressure cookers. There also exists a need for preventing steam from pressure cookers coming into contact with the user, thereby reducing the risk of steam-related burns and accidents. There is also a need for minimizing gas wastage by preventing water spillage from extinguishing the stove flame, ensuring continuous and efficient cooking.

[0006] The primary object of the present invention is to provide a system and method for prevention of spillage of water and steam during the operation of pressure cookers.

The embodiments also provide a system and method as a detachable unit designed to collect and contain steam or water from pressure cookers.
[0016] According to one embodiment of the present invention, a detachable spillage collector is provided to be used along with pressure cookers. This collector is designed to capture steam and water released during the cooking process, effectively preventing them from coming into contact with the user or spilling over the cooker's surface. The collector is strategically placed on an embossed section of the cooker's lid, ensuring a secure fit and efficient collection of steam and water. The unique design of the collector ensures that the collected water does not spray out during subsequent whistles, thereby enhancing safety and cleanliness. 1. A system for preventing spillage of water and steam during the operation of a pressure-cooking vessel, the system comprising:
a spillage collector (102) designed to capture steam and water released during cooking, wherein the spillage collector is constructed of a heat-resistant material, and wherein, the spillage collector is further equipped with an internal mechanism for condensing steam back into water, thus preventing steam burns and spillage.
an embossing mechanism (105) located on the lid (103) of the pressure cooker, the embossing mechanism designed to ensure a secure fit of the spillage collector (102) on the lid and to direct steam and water into the spillage collector;
a detachable mechanism allowing the spillage collector to be securely attached to and detached from the embossing mechanism for easy cleaning and maintenance;
a main body of the pressure cooker (106) designed to work in conjunction with the lid and spillage collector to ensure efficient cooking and safety.
2. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the spillage collector (102) is adaptable to various lid designs via the detachable mechanism, providing versatility across different models of pressure cookers.
3. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the embossing mechanism (105) is integrated into a separate accessory that can be mechanically coupled to the lid (103) of the pressure cooker, offering flexibility in retrofitting existing pressure cookers with the spillage collection system.
4. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the detachable mechanism comprises a twist-and-lock mechanism or a snap-fit coupling, ensuring a secure and user-friendly attachment of the spillage collector (102) to the pressure cooker lid (103).
5. The system as claimed in claim 1, wherein the internal mechanism of the spillage collector (102) is specifically designed to handle the pressure and temperature of the steam, maximizing the condensation process and ensuring that collected water does not spray out during subsequent whistles.
6. A method for preventing spillage of water and steam during the operation of a pressure-cooking vessel, the method comprising:
attaching a spillage collector (102) to an embossed area on the lid (103) of the pressure cooker using a detachable mechanism, where the spillage collector is designed to capture and contain steam and water released during cooking;
directing steam and water from the pressure cooker into the spillage collector through the use of an embossing mechanism (105) on the lid;
condensing the steam back into water within the spillage collector to reduce the risk of steam burns and spillage; and
detaching the spillage collector from the lid after cooking is complete and the cooker is depressurized for the disposal of collected water and cleaning of the collector.
7. The method as claimed in claim 6, further comprising the step of utilizing a twist-and-lock mechanism or a snap-fit coupling as the detachable mechanism to secure the spillage collector (102) to the lid (103) of the pressure cooker.
8. The method as claimed in claim 6, wherein the step of directing steam involves guiding the steam into the spillage collector (102) in such a way as to utilize the natural flow of steam, thereby maximizing collection efficiency and reducing the chances of spillage or steam escape.
9. The method as claimed in claim 6, involving the additional step of adapting the spillage collector (102) to various lid designs of pressure cookers, thereby enhancing the applicability of the method across different pressure cooker models.
