The present subject matter relates to a vehicle, more particularly, configuration and design of a side car mounting bracket of a vehicle.
BACKGROUND

In general, a two wheeled vehicle is provided with a plurality of vehicle 5 components. However, seating space in a two wheeled vehicle is limited for more than two passengers.

In order to overcome the problem of seating space in the two wheeled vehicle, a side car is generally mounted to a frame assembly of the two wheeled vehicle. However, the conventional mounting of the side car in the two wheeled 10 vehicle requires multiple mounting brackets and multiple attachment points and thereby increases the overall part count of the vehicle.

In general, the side car is mounted through plurality of mounting brackets and each of the plurality of mounting brackets is integrally attached to a front portion and a rear portion of the frame assembly. However, the mounting of the side car on 15 the front and rear portion of the frame assembly led to disbalance in the centre of gravity of the vehicle and thereby leads to deformity in the shape of the frame assembly.

Furthermore, any additional load from the passengers seated in the side car leads to deformity and breakage of the frame assembly due to non-uniform 20 distribution of the load acting on the frame assembly of the vehicle.

Furthermore, the additional load from the side car only acts on either a left side or a right side of the vehicle and thereby causes bent and deformity in the vehicle frame assembly due to disbalance of load and weight either on the left side or the right side of the vehicle. 25

Hence, it is preferred to have a side car mounting bracket which balances the load of the side car and also uniformly distributes the load of the side car across the frame assembly of the vehicle without causing deformity of the frame assembly of the vehicle.

The present subject matter provides a configuration of a side car mounting bracket in proximity of a centre stand and footrest assembly of the vehicle for uniform load distribution and prevention of deformity of the footrest assembly of the vehicle. 5

As per an aspect of the present invention, a vehicle comprising a frame assembly, one or more footrest assembly, and a centre stand. The frame assembly comprising a main tube and a down tube. The one or more footrest assembly being configured to accommodate one or more side car mounting bracket. The one or more side car mounting bracket is disposed in proximity of the centre stand. 10

As per an embodiment, the one or more footrest assembly comprising an intermediary frame member and the intermediary frame member comprising a first end and a second end.

As per another embodiment, the second end of the intermediary frame member comprising the one or more side car mounting bracket. The first end of the 15 intermediary frame member comprising a first footrest mounting provision for mounting one or more footrest of the vehicle.

As per another embodiment, the intermediary frame member comprising one or more support bracket for receiving and supporting the centre stand of the vehicle. The second end of the intermediary frame member comprising a protrusion 20 and a second footrest mounting bracket for mounting the one or more footrest on each of a left and right side of the frame assembly.

As per another embodiment, the one or more side car mounting bracket comprising a first portion, a second portion, a third portion, and a fourth portion. Hence it is an object of the present invention to provide a side car mounting bracket in proximity of a centre stand of a vehicle for providing uniform load distribution across the frame assembly of the vehicle and also to overcome other related problems known in the art as explained in the background problem.

It is also an object of the present invention to prevent deformity of the 10 vehicle frame assembly from the load acting on the side car mounting bracket.

It is also an object of the present invention to reduce part count and multiple mounting provisions of side car in the vehicle.

Figure 1 illustrates a left side view of a frame assembly (102) of a two wheeled vehicle (100), in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject 20 matter. Figure 1 illustrates a perspective view of a frame assembly (102) of a two wheeled vehicle (100), in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. A vehicle (100) comprising a frame assembly (102) which acts as a skeletal support structure of the vehicle (100). In one embodiment, the vehicle (100) is a two wheeled vehicle, a three wheeled vehicle, and a multi wheeled vehicle. In another 25 embodiment, the vehicle (100) is an electric vehicle, a hybrid electric vehicle, a vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine, and a vehicle powered by any other power or fuel sources. In an exemplary embodiment, the vehicle (100) is interchangeably referred to as a two wheeled vehicle (100). The frame assembly (102) comprising a main tube (106) and a pair of rear frame members (116a, 116b). 30 The pair of rear frame members (116a, 116b) extending rearwardly from the main

. The frame assembly (102) comprising a head tube (104) and a down tube (108). The down tube (108) extending downwardly from the head tube (104) in one embodiment. In another embodiment, the frame assembly (102) comprising a pair of rear down tubes (114a, 114b) for accommodating a power unit assembly (not shown) of the vehicle (100). The frame assembly (102) further comprising a centre 5 stand (110) being mounted to a portion of one or more footrest assembly (200) (as shown in figure 2). The one or more footrest assembly (200) being configured to accommodate one or more footrest (112) in one embodiment. In one embodiment, the one or more footrest assembly (200) is configured to receive one or more side car mounting bracket (114) and the one or more side car mounting bracket (114) is 10 disposed in proximity of the centre stand (110) of the vehicle (100).

Figure 2 illustrates a perspective view of a footrest assembly (200) of the two wheeled vehicle (100), in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. In one embodiment, the one or more footrest assembly (200) comprising an intermediary frame member (202). The intermediary frame member (202) 15 comprising a first end (202a) and a second end (202b). The intermediary frame member (202) having a tubular structure extending along a width of the vehicle (100) from a left to a right direction of the vehicle (100). In an embodiment, the second end (202b) of the intermediary frame member (202) comprising the one or more side car mounting bracket (114). In another embodiment, the first end (202a) of the 20 intermediary frame member (202) comprising a first footrest mounting provision (206) for mounting the one or more footrest (112) of the vehicle. In an exemplary embodiment, the first footrest mounting provision (206) is provided on one of a left and a right side of the vehicle (100). In another embodiment, the intermediary frame member (202) comprising one or more support bracket (204, 208) for receiving and 25 supporting the centre stand (110) of the vehicle (100). In an exemplary embodiment, a first support bracket (204) of the one or more support bracket (204, 208) is configured to mount the centre stand (110) in the vehicle (100) and a second support bracket (208) is configured to accommodate a hinge mechanism for accessing the centre stand (110) of the vehicle (100). In another embodiment, the first support 30 bracket (204) is disposed in a middle portion between the first end (202a) and the

intermediary frame member (202). In another embodiment, the second end (202b) of the intermediary frame member (202) comprising a protrusion (212) and a second footrest mounting bracket (210) for mounting the one or more footrest (112) on each of a left and right side of the frame assembly (100). In an exemplary embodiment, the one or more side car mounting bracket (114) is 5 integrally attached to the second end (202b) of the intermediate frame member (202) of the one or more footrest assembly (200).

Figure 3a illustrates a perspective view of a side car mounting bracket (114) of the two wheeled vehicle (100), in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. Figure 3b illustrates a front view of the side car mounting 10 bracket (114) of the two wheeled vehicle (100), in accordance with an embodiment of the present subject matter. In an embodiment, the one or more side car mounting bracket (114) comprising a first portion (300), a second portion (304), a third portion (306), and a fourth portion (308). In one embodiment, the first portion (300) and the second portion (304) are integrally attached by a first curved portion (302). In 15 another embodiment, the first portion (300) and the third portion (308) are integrally attached by a second curved portion (310). In another embodiment, the third portion (306) and the fourth portion (308) are integrally attached to each other. In an exemplary embodiment, the first portion (300) comprising a mounting point (312) for receiving a side car (not shown) of the vehicle (100). The side car being mounted 20 using one or more fasteners in an exemplary embodiment. In another embodiment, the second portion (304) being undulated outwardly from the first curved portion (302), and the third portion (306) is undulated outwardly from the second curved portion (310). The first curved portion (302) and the second curved portion (310) have a curved profile to distribute the load from the side car all across the surface of 25 the one or more side car mounting bracket (114) and thereafter uniformly distributes the load all across the frame assembly (102) of the vehicle (100). Further, the undulated surfaces of the first portion (302), the second portion (304), and the third portion (306) prevents deformity of the one or more side car mounting bracket (114) and also prevents unwanted collision of the one or more side car mounting bracket 30 (114) with surrounding parts of the vehicle (100). Furthermore, the disposition of

the one or more side car mounting bracket (114) in proximity to the centre stand
(110) maintains the centre of gravity of the vehicle (100) and thereby prevents tilting of the vehicle (100) due to increased load in the side car of the vehicle (100).

Various embodiments of the invention provides a configuration of a side car mounting bracket in proximity of a centre stand and footrest assembly of the 5 vehicle for uniform load distribution and prevention of deformity of the footrest assembly of the vehicle.

Specifically, the disposition of the one or more side car mounting bracket in proximity to the centre stand maintains the centre of gravity of the vehicle and thereby prevents tilting of the vehicle due to increased load in the side car of the vehicle.

Additionally, the first curved portion and the second curved portion have 20 a curved profile to distribute the load from the side car all across the surface of the one or more side car mounting bracket and thereafter uniformly distributes the load all across the frame assembly of the vehicle.

In light of the above-mentioned advantages and the technical advancements provided by the disclosed a side car mounting bracket in proximity of a centre stand of a vehicle for providing uniform load distribution across the frame assembly of the vehicle, the claimed invention as discussed above is not routine, conventional, or well understood in the art, as the claimed invention enable the 5 following solutions to the existing problems in conventional technologies.

Furthermore, a person skilled in the art would not be motivated to design a side car mounting bracket in proximity of a centre stand of a vehicle for providing uniform load distribution across the frame assembly of the vehicle.

a frame assembly (100), said frame assembly (100) comprising a main tube (104) and a down tube (108);

The vehicle as claimed in claim 2, wherein said intermediary frame member (202) comprising one or more support bracket (204, 208) for receiving and supporting said centre stand (110) of said vehicle.

The vehicle as claimed in claim 2, wherein said second end (202b) of said 25 intermediary frame member (202) comprising a protrusion (212) and a second footrest mounting bracket (210) for mounting said one or more footrest (112) on each of a left and right side of said frame assembly (100).

portion (300) and said second portion (304) being integrally attached by a first curved portion (302), and wherein said first portion (300) and said third portion (308) being integrally attached by a second curved portion (310), and wherein said third portion (306) and said fourth portion (308) being 5 integral to each other.

The vehicle as claimed in claim 7, wherein said first portion (300) comprising a mounting point (312) for receiving a side car of said vehicle, wherein said side car being mounted using one or more fasteners.

The vehicle as claimed in claim 7, wherein said second portion (304) being 10 undulated outwardly from said first curved portion (302), and wherein said third portion (306) being undulated outwardly from said second curved portion (310).

a first portion (300);
wherein said first portion (300) being provided with a mounting point (312) for receiving a side car;
wherein said side car mounting bracket (114) being disposed in proximity of a centre stand (110) of said vehicle. 20
