Specification

Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001]
The present subject matter relates to a power unit, more particularly, a design and configuration of a handle assembly of the power unit.
BACKGROUND
[002]
In general, a power unit comprises a casing assembly and a plurality of 5 battery components, such as a cell module, a battery thermal management module, and plurality of interconnectors are disposed inside the casing assembly. The casing assembly secures and protects the internal components from any damage from the external environment.
[003]
In conventional design, the power unit is accessed through a conventional 10 handle assembly. The conventional handle is made up of rubber or any other elastomers. Though the conventional handle is low cost, but the conventional handle is not equipped to handle load of a heavy power unit, for example power units weighing around 18-25 kgs.
[004]
Furthermore, the conventional handle is mounted on a top cover of the 15 power unit at corner edges of the top cover using a plurality of fasteners. However, this mounting configuration reduces the load bearing capacity of the handle and often leads to breakage of the handle when a user tries to access the power unit by pulling the handle.
[005]
Furthermore, the conventional handle also has a limitation where the 20 power unit is accessible by the user by pulling the battery in an upwards direction. However, this leads to additional effort to the hands and fingers of the user while trying to pull the power unit away from a particular location.
[006]
Further the conventional design of the handle is difficult to assemble and also the conventional mounting of the handle on the power unit causes visibility of 25 the plurality of fasteners used to mount the handle and thereby leads to lack of security of the handle and reduces aesthetic appeal of the power unit.
[007]
Hence, it is preferred to design a handle assembly of the power unit which is durable and also uniformly distributes the load of the power unit across the surface area of the power unit without causing fatigue to the user. 30
