Description:TECHNICAL FIELD
[001]
The present subject matter relates to a vehicle, more particularly, packaging of a light control unit of a vehicle.
BACKGROUND
[002]
In general, a vehicle is driven by an internal combustion engine or an 5 electric motor or both. In conventional vehicles, a plurality of light units are provided. The plurality of light units include a headlamp assembly, one or more tail lamp assembly, and one or more turn signal lamps.
[003]
In the conventional vehicles, each of the plurality of light units is electronically controlled by individual light driver units. In general, the each of the 10 plurality of lights being LED lights and the individual light driver units are LED driver units.
[004]
However, in the above configuration, packaging of individual light driver units are difficult in an existing vehicle layout, especially in a two wheeled vehicle layout. Furthermore, usage of individual light driver units increases the overall part 15 count and cost of the vehicle.
[005]
In a known art, in order to overcome the problem of usage of individual light driver units, a common light control module is used for controlling functioning of the plurality of light units. However, the light control module (LCM) is packaged in proximity to a headlamp assembly of the vehicle for controlling the operation of 20 the headlamp of the vehicle.
[006]
However, in the above configuration, a lengthier wire routing and wiring harness is required to connect the rear turn signal lamps to the light control module of the vehicle, thereby increasing the part count and also packaging difficulty in the vehicle. 25
[007]
Furthermore, in conventional vehicles, the light control module is packaged using one or more mounting brackets. This in turn increases the overall part count of the vehicle.
[008]
Hence, it is preferred to package the light control module for optimum control of the plurality of lights without increasing the part count and length of 30 wiring harness of the vehicle.
