Abstract: ?A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF (±)-4’-[(7-CHLORO-2,3,4,5- TETRAHYDRO-5-HYDROXY-1H-1-BENZAZEPIN-1-YL) CARBONYL]-OTOLU- M-TOLUIDIDE ? The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of (±)-4’-[(7-chloro- 2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-5-hydroxy-1H-1-benzazepin-1-yl) carbonyl]-o-tolu-m-toluidide, represented by the following structural Formula (1). The invention also relates to a process for the purification of (±)-4’-[(7-chloro-2,3,4,5- tetrahydro-5-hydroxy-1H-1-benzazepin-1-yl) carbonyl]-o-tolu-m-toluidide (1) to a purity greater than 99.9% by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
