Colloidal Quantum Dot Single Photon Emitter

Abstract: COLLOIDAL QUANTUM DOT SINGLE PHOTON EMITTER ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to high fidelity colloidal quantum dot single photon emitters. 5 The single photon emitters may comprise a multi-layered quantum dot (100) configured to emit a single photon. The multi-layered quantum dot (100) may include a central core (102) made of a first semiconductor nanocrystal; and an outer shell (104) surrounding the central core (102) that is made of at least one second semiconductor nanocrystal. The multi-layered quantum dot (100) may include a wider band gap energy in the central core (102) compared 10 to that of the outer shell (104). The multi-layered quantum dot (100) may be configured to: generate multiple excitons when exposed to incident light; and emit the single photon by non-radiatively recombining the multiple excitons. 15 Figures 2A-2B
