An Organ On Chip Device For Establishing A Tissue Or Organ Architecture

Abstract: AN ORGAN-ON-CHIP DEVICE FOR ESTABLISHING A TISSUE OR ORGAN ARCHITECTURE An organ-on-chip device (100) is disclosed. The device includes a microfluidic platform (1) adapted for establishing a tissue or organ architecture. The device further includes a vascular channel (2) with an inlet (3) connectable to a first reservoir (6), and an outlet (4) connectable to a second reservoir (7). The vascular channel (2) includes a perfusion path (5) connecting the inlet (3) and the outlet (4), and further includes a cell culture chamber (8) positioned between the inlet (3) and the outlet (4). The vascular channel includes a distensible membrane (9) provided underneath the cell culture chamber (8). The perfusion path (5) is supplied with a culture media from at least one of the first reservoir (6) and the second reservoir . The first reservoir and the second reservoir are configured to regulate supply of cell culture media, to generate a hydrodynamic pressure difference between the inlet and the outlet.
