Specification

Description:TITLE OF THE INVENTION
Intelligent IoT-enabled wearable device for children
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
Computer Science and Engineering
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Globally, approximately 2 million children under the age of five succumb to vaccine-preventable diseases, with an estimated 300,000 of these deaths occurring in India. Ensuring full immunization against diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis B, polio, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, HiB, measles, mumps, and rubella within the first year of life significantly reduces susceptibility to these infections and mitigates the risk of outbreaks. However, India’s national immunization coverage for children under 36 months ranges approx. 50% and 65%, leaving approximately 5.0 million children vulnerable each year.
The reasons for under-immunization are complex and multifaceted. Among the most commonly cited reasons were a lack of awareness about vaccines and a perceived lack of necessity. Other barriers varied by region and included logistical challenges such as not knowing where to go, lack of time or conflicting schedules, long wait times at vaccination centres, fear of side effects, and misinformation.
Few parents avoid/forget timely vaccination due to various concerns. Newborns possess maternal antibodies at birth, which offer temporary immunity against infectious diseases for up to six months. However, as the infant grows, these antibodies diminish, increasing susceptibility to infections. Vaccination is one of the most cost-effective and reliable methods for preventing infectious diseases, ensuring that children develop their own protective antibodies to combat illnesses.
Currently, childhood vaccinations are primarily managed through physical vaccination booklets, requiring parents to queue at hospitals for scheduled immunizations. However, this system presents challenges, including missed optimal vaccination windows due to scheduling constraints, the risk of losing vaccination records, and the inconvenience of maintaining and updating physical booklets. Addressing these issues is crucial to improving vaccination coverage and ensuring the healthy growth of children.
Young mothers often face challenges in remembering their newborns' vaccination schedules due to household responsibilities, emotional transitions, and daily tasks. This can lead to missed or delayed vaccinations, potentially compromising the child’s health and well-being. Existing solutions, such as manual calendars or mobile applications, may not offer real-time reminders or a seamless, wearable solution that fits effortlessly into a mother’s daily routine.
The primary objective of the present invention is:
Additional objectives include:
• Providing real-time tracking of vaccination schedules and doctor appointments.
• Offering automatic reminders for upcoming vaccinations.
• Incorporating an alarm notification system for doctor appointments.
• Enabling customizable alarm settings for a personalized user experience.
• Featuring a user-friendly interface for seamless interaction and efficient management of a child's healthcare schedule.
• Designing a fashionable and lightweight wearable device for children for everyday use.
These and other objectives, features, and advantages of the present invention will become clearer from the following description, accompanied by illustrations that depict one embodiment of the invention for illustrative purposes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The present invention discloses a Intelligent IoT-enabled wearable device for children designed to assist in tracking vaccination schedules and doctor appointments for children aged 0-10 years. The smart device incorporates several features, including:
