“Smart Nursing Assistant Patch: A Wearable System For Continuous Patient Monitoring And Real Time Nurse Alerts”

Abstract: • The present invention discloses a smart, wearable patch designed for continuous monitoring of patient vital signs and real-time alerting to nursing personnel. The device comprises a biocompatible, flexible adhesive patch embedded with miniaturized sensors to measure physiological parameters such as heart rate, respiratory rate, body temperature, and blood oxygen saturation. A microcontroller processes the collected data and transmits it wirelessly via a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module to a central nursing dashboard or mobile application. The system automatically generates alerts when predefined thresholds are breached, allowing for timely intervention. The patch is lightweight, disposable or reusable, and suitable for use in hospital, home-care, or post-operative recovery settings. The invention addresses the gap in efficient, nurse-integrated patient monitoring by reducing manual observation needs and enhancing patient safety through automated, real-time data-driven responses.
