Description:A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INTERACTIVE LANGUAGE EDUCATION UTILIZING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR USER INPUT ANALYSIS
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The invention relates to the scope of educational technology and systems pertaining to language learning. It concerns an AI-enabled mobile application aimed at teaching Hindi reading, writing, and speaking through the use of lessons, speech and handwriting recognition, and the integration of culture and technology in a game-like format.
BACKGROUND ART
[0002] Hindi has great importance in the world, being the most spoken language in India, as well as the fourth most spoken globally. Despite its importance, there is an acute problem for the majority of learners. This problem pertains to NRI children, children in school from non-Hindi speaking parts of India, and a large audience beyond India who need engaging, well-structured, and modern resources for language proficiency.
[0003] Mobile applications for learning new languages focus on their own versions of English, Spanish, or French, to the neglect of Hindi which is offered in a softer, shallow manner. All of these out dated aids seem to overlook essential features like, speech recognition for the intricate sounds of the Hindi language, as well as, handwriting recognition to practice writing in the Devanagari script. What’s more, they do not provide modules for learning through play which is crucial for user retention and motivation.
[0004] Another limitation is the lack of culture integration in most online learning systems. They do not include Indian lore, heritage and culture in their teaching which is essential in sharpening the holistic understanding of the language. This illustrates both a gap and opportunity in the sector.
[0005] This invention inhances Hindi learning by integrating advanced technology with traditional teaching techniques, offering the solution. It combines principles of language pedagogy with interactive and contemporary artificial intelligence technologies to provide an engaging educational experience to learners across the globe.
OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
[0006] The present objectives focus on designing an AI mobile application, “Hindipath,” aimed at teaching Hindi, encompassing its reading, writing, and speaking components.
[0007] One of the goals is the implementation of a Hindi Phonetic Speech Recognition System so the mobile application can give precise and calibrated evaluation for speaking and thus provide an efficient speaking practice and evaluation platform.
[0008] Another goal is the inclusion of handwriting recognition and real time evaluation on the practice of Devanagari script, an essential feature for Hindi writing mastery, is a crucial feature for real-time feedback.
[0009] The invention also seeks to create motivating and engaging lessons and quizzes to make the learning process more effective, thus motivating and engaging the learner to a higher level.
[0010] Furthermore, the invention seeks to provide an enriched and holistic learning experience by incorporating a wide array of cultural and contextual materials including but not limited to, stories, poems, songs, and traditions.
[0011] Finally, the invention aims to ensure effective educational outcomes by providing customized learning pathways for each user through advanced learner analytics and real-time progress evaluation powered by AI, ensuring efficient and tailored educational interactions.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0012] This invention offers a new system of a mobile application that integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision, and gamification, bringing together all these technologies to build a platform for learning Hindi.
[0013] The system has been organized around several key components. It has gamified lesson modules which build the alphanumeric vocabulary and grammar, and conversational exercises. The evaluation of Hindi speech through a specialized speech recognition system offers to measure the pronunciation of Hindi phonetics and provide corrective feedback in real-time.
[0014] The application employs a handwriting recognition system for the Devanagari script that offers real-time evaluation of the user's writing, ensuring that practice leads to measurable improvement. The platform also has modules containing rich cultural content which are Indian folk stories, songs, Proverbs, and content based on Indian festivals to provide a complete learning experience.
[0015] A crucial feature of the invention is the personalization engine powered by AI. This system recalibrates the lesson's difficulty level, adapts progress-based learning pathways, and even analyzes the learner's data to provide advanced analytics on how improvement is being made. The application is accessible on different platforms to reach a wider audience, which includes children of Non-Resident Indians, learners from Hindi-derivative regions, and learners from all over the world.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0016] Various modifications and alternative forms, specific embodiment thereof has been shown by way of example in the figures and will be described below. It should be understood, however, that it is not intended to limit the disclosure to the forms disclosed, but on the contrary, the disclosure is to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternative falling within the scope of the disclosure.
[0017] The terms “comprise,” “comprising,” or any other variations thereof used in the disclosure, are intended to cover a non-exclusive inclusion, such that a device, system, assembly that comprises a list of components does not include only those components but may include other components not expressly listed or inherent to such system, or assembly, or device. In other words, one or more elements in a system or device proceeded by “comprises… a” does not, without more constraints, preclude the existence of other elements or additional elements in the system or device.
[0018] This embodiment of the invention presents an AI-driven mobile app called “Hindipath” which offers an all-in-one solution for Hindi language learning with multiple modules integrated within the app.
[0019] The app offers a Gamified Lesson Module which teaches the Hindi alphabets, vocabulary, grammar, and even conversational skills at an advanced level through interactive games. It follows a reward and level-based system that provides a challenge and helps motivate the learner. The Speech Recognition Module uses AI with Natural Language Processing (NLP) tailored for Hindi to evaluate and provide feedback on the user’s spoken Hindi. It captures the user’s voice, analyzes their pronunciation, and gives corrective feedback in real time, enabling effective practice of speaking skills.
[0020] In practicing writing, a Handwriting Recognition Module computer uses computer vision techniques to analyze a user's writing of Hindi letters and words in Devanagari script. Feedback is given in real time regarding stroke order, spacing, and accuracy. The Cultural Content Module integrates elements like folk tales, poems, and songs to deepen Indian cultural engagement, assisting learners in acquiring the language in a meaningful context.
[0021] An AI-Personalization & Analytics Module is included in the application as well. This smart system monitors learners’ activities, capturing and analyzing performance data related to recognized patterns of strengths and weaknesses, and adjusting lesson difficulty to suit learning needs. It also produces report cards and analytics for educators or guardians. The complete system is bound to the concept of Multi-Platform Accessibility. There is a mobile application integrated to the cloud that is available on Google Play and the App Store. This helps reach a larger audience of learners including NRI children, Indian students, and learners from all over the world.
[0022] Although embodiments for the present subject matter have been described in language specific to structural features, it is to be understood that the present subject matter is not necessarily limited to the specific features described. Rather, the specific features and methods are disclosed as embodiments for the present subject matter. Numerous modifications and adaptations of the system/component of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and thus it is intended by the appended claims to cover all such modifications and adaptations which fall within the scope of the present subject matter.
