Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for charging or discharging a lithium secondary battery, comprising: a step of manufacturing a lithium secondary battery having an anode including a silicon-based active material; a first cycle step of repeating, N1 times for the lithium secondary battery, a first cycle of discharging under 3.0V to 3.5V conditions after charging; and a second cycle step of performing, N2 times for the lithium secondary battery, a second cycle of fully discharging after charging, wherein N1/N2 is greater than 25 and less than 100.
