Battery Management Device And Method

Abstract: A battery management device according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a side reaction determination unit which determines a target peak in a differential profile indicating a corresponding relation between the voltage and the differential capacity of a battery, and which compares a reference peak of a preset reference profile with the target peak so as to determine whether a side reaction has occurred in the battery; and a side reaction cause determination unit which determines a resistance pattern of the battery with respect to a reference voltage section in a resistance profile indicating the corresponding relation between the voltage and the resistance of the battery, and which determines the cause of occurrence of the side reaction on the basis of the determined resistance pattern.
