Abstract: The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery. The lithium secondary battery includes, in a positive electrode, an NCM-based positive electrode active material having a high nickel (Ni) content, and thus has excellent energy density, and has the benefit of ameliorating safety issues caused by positive electrode active material at high temperatures, by adjusting the heat flow rate between the positive electrode active material and an electrolyte composition to be low, within a predetermined range.
