Plated Steel Material

Abstract: This plated steel material comprises a steel material and a plating layer disposed on the surface of the steel material, wherein: the average chemical composition of the plating layer is a prescribed composition; and a cross-section of the plating layer perpendicular to the surface of the steel material has a structure, as observed by a scanning electron microscope, in which, in terms of area proportions, an MgZn2 phase is 10% to 50%, the total of an Al phase, an Al-Zn phase, and a Zn-Al phase is 15% to 75%, and an Al/MgZn2/Zn ternary eutectic structure is 0% to 65%, with the remainder being 0% to 5.0%, and the total area ratio of the Al phase and the Zn-Al phase with respect to the Al-Zn phase ([Al]+[Zn-Al])/[Al-Zn]) is 0.8 or more.
