Abstract: The present invention pertains to a positive electrode and a lithium secondary battery including same, the positive electrode including a lithium-excess manganese-based oxide in which the molar ratio (Li/Me) of lithium to all metals excluding lithium exceeds 1.1, the content of manganese among all the metals excluding lithium is at least 50 mol%, and expression (1) below is satisfied. Expression (1): 0.05 < ITM/ILi <0.13. In expression (1), ITM and ILi are, respectively, the sum of the areas of peaks appearing in the 1000-2500 ppm region and the sum of the areas of peaks appearing in the 300-900 ppm region when peak deconvolution is performed on the 1D NMR center band spectrum extracted from the 2D 7Li Magic Angle Turning Phase Adjusted Spinning Sideband (MATPASS) NMR spectrum of the lithium-excess manganese-based oxide.
