Cylindrical Battery Comprising Pressure Sensor, Apparatus For Monitoring Swelling Pressure And Battery Management System Comprising Same

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cylindrical battery having a pressure sensor, and an apparatus for monitoring a swelling pressure. The cylindrical battery according to the present invention comprises: an electrode assembly in which a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator disposed between the first and second electrodes are wound about a winding axis to define the core and outer circumference thereof; a battery housing which has an open end and a closed portion facing the open end, accommodates the electrode assembly in a space between the open end and the closed portion, and is electrically connected to one of the first electrode and the second electrode to have a first polarity; a sealer which seals the open end of the battery housing; a terminal of a second polarity, which is electrically connected to the other one of the first electrode and the second electrode and has a surface exposed to the outside; and a pressure sensor which is interposed between the outer circumference of the electrode assembly and the inner circumference of the battery housing, senses a swelling pressure applied by the outer circumference of the electrode assembly onto the inner circumference of the battery housing, and then outputs a pressure sensing signal to the outside.
